Honda, Acura Urge Immediate Recall for 8,200 Vehicles

By Autogos Team

Honda and Acura are issuing a "Do Not Drive" warning for select 2001-2003 vehicles.

Affected vehicles include Honda Accord, Civic, CR-V, Odyssey, and Pilot models, and Acura 3.2 TL and 3.2CL models.

The airbag inflators were subject to recalls between 2008 and 2011 but were never replaced.

Roughly 8,200 vehicles are affected by the warning.

Owners are urged to avoid driving the affected vehicles until the recall has been completed.

The repair is free and Honda will provide free towing and a loaner vehicle if needed.

The Takata Alpha airbags have a 50% failure rate.

NHTSA urges vehicle owners to check for open Takata airbag recalls and contact the dealership or Acura/Honda customer service for a free repair.
